A journey through Cappadocia means stepping into a world that feels almost unreal — a land of dramatic valleys, fairy chimneys, ancient caves and landscapes sculpted by nature over millions of years.

Here, every sunrise is a spectacle. As the first light reaches the valleys, hundreds of hot-air balloons slowly rise into the sky, turning the Cappadocian landscape into one of the most magical views in the world. But Cappadocia is much more than its famous balloons: it’s about hiking through hidden valleys, discovering ancient cave cities and churches, getting lost among unique rock formations, and experiencing the authentic atmosphere of central Türkiye.

Our base will be Göreme, the heart of Cappadocia and the perfect starting point to experience everything this incredible region has to offer. From sunrise to sunset, every day will bring a new landscape, a new adventure, and another reason to fall in love with this extraordinary place.

‍DISCOVER CAPPADOCIA is an innovative project whose purpose is to make the participants live a professional experience for those who love photography and video making.
The main goal of the project is to valorise and promote the magical area of Cappadocia, through photos, reportage, videos made by photographers (amateurs or not) from different places of the world. DISCOVER CAPPADOCIA and more wants to enrich the professional and academic path of the photographer, moreover it wants to enrich his portfolio.

The tours of the city are organized in collaboration with different local guides, who knows all the sights of Cappadocia and will take you on a guided tour. Exactly:

- TOUR 1 – Hot-air Balloon, Göreme Open Air Museum, Uçhisar & Red Valley
We will start our Cappadocia adventure before sunrise, with an unforgettable hot-air balloon experience. As the first light reaches the horizon, hundreds of colourful balloons rise above the valleys, creating one of the most spectacular and iconic views in the world.
After this magical start to the day, we will visit the Göreme Open Air Museum, one of the region’s most important historical sites, famous for its ancient rock-cut churches and frescoes.
We will then continue to Uçhisar Castle, one of the highest points in Cappadocia and one of the best panoramic viewpoints over the surreal landscape of valleys and fairy chimneys.
After visiting Pigeon Valley, known for its distinctive rock formations and countless pigeon houses carved into the cliffs, we will end the day watching the sunset from Red Valley, one of the most spectacular places in Cappadocia as the rocks turn shades of red and pink in the evening light.

- TOUR 2 – Derinkuyu, Ihlara Valley & Love Valley
Our second tour will take us deeper into the history and landscapes of Cappadocia. We will begin with Derinkuyu Underground City, one of the largest and most impressive underground cities in the region, built several levels beneath the surface.
We will then explore Ihlara Valley, a spectacular canyon surrounded by volcanic landscapes and ancient rock-cut churches, before continuing to the Selime Monastery, one of Cappadocia’s most impressive rock-cut complexes. From its elevated position, we will enjoy incredible views over the surrounding valley.
We will finish the day at Love Valley, famous for its distinctive fairy chimneys and dramatic landscape, where we will stop to enjoy the sunset.

- TOUR 3 – Paşabağ, Zelve, Devrent Valley & Çavuşin
Our final tour will take us through some of the most unique landscapes in northern Cappadocia. At Paşabağ, we will discover the famous multi-headed fairy chimneys, among the most recognizable rock formations in the region.
We will then visit the Zelve Open Air Museum, a former rock-carved settlement where entire communities once lived, with homes, churches and other spaces carved directly into the cliffs.
Next comes Devrent Valley, also known as Imagination Valley, famous for its unusual rock formations and shapes that seem to change depending on your imagination. We will continue to Çavuşin, one of Cappadocia’s oldest settlements, before ending our final day with another unforgettable sunset over Rose Valley, surrounded by the characteristic pink and red tones of the Cappadocian landscape.

In order to improve participants’ professional and academic skills, there will be several workshops and photoshooting:
1. Workshop "Landscape Photography" organized by Michał Włoch
2. Workshop "Portrait Photography” organized by Michał Włoch
3. Workshop "Travel Photography" organized by Michał Włoch

Exclusevely for this edition, the photographer Michał Włoch will support the participant during all the days of the projects. He will prepare daily photography activities and teach to you as much as he can. Michał Włoch is one of our main partner for Discover Krakow. Exclusevely for this edition, he will come from Krakow to Cappadocia.
