After the great successes of Krakow, Barcelona, Budapest,Sicily, Marrakech, Lisbon, Copenaghen, Prague, Athens, Santorini, Seville, Paris, Valencia, London, Gran Canaria, Amsterdam and Stockholm, Let me Italian you is ready to launch the first and exclusive edition of DISCOVER PROVENCE. It will be a unique and exclusively edition for this year!
Welcome to the "The land of contrasts": in the South of France, between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, sits a region of light and vibrant color. Blue skies, fragrant fields, fabulous wine and charming villages, the Provence’s delights are too numerous to describe them all. But to fall in love with this tasty morsel of France is super easily! Why visit Provence? Provence deserves not even universal love but universal worship.
DISCOVER PROVENCE is an innovative project whose purpose is to make the participants live a professional experience for those who love photography and video making.
The main goal of the project is to valorise and promote the magical and romantic region of Provence, in France,through photos, reportage, videos made by photographers (amateurs or not) from different places of the world. DISCOVER PROVENCE wants to enrich the professional and academic path of the photographer, moreover it wants to enrich his portfolio.
Elizabeth David said: "Provence is a country to which I am always returning, next week, next year, any day now, as soon as I can get on a train."
The tours of the cities are organized in collaboration with local guides, who knows all the sights of Provence and will take you on a guided tour . Exactly, we are going to visit:
- NICE: Heaven must be there!
- AIX-EN-PROVENCE: The ancient capital of Provence!
- GRASSE: Provence capital of perfume!
Exclusevely for this edition, the photographer Kamila Mankiewicz will support the participant during all the days of the projects. She will prepare daily photography activities and teach to you as much as he can. Kamila Mankiewicz is a professional photographer based in Stockholm. Exclusevely for this edition, she will come from Stockholm to Provence.
In order to improve participants’ professional and academic skills, there will be several workshops and photoshooting:
- Workshop "Landscape Photography" organized by Kamila Mankiewicz
- Workshop "Portrait Photography" organized by Kamila Mankiewicz
Further, we will have an Outdoor Photoshoot with models in the amazing location of Jardins de la Princesse Pauline in Grasse.
How is DISCOVER PROVENCE organized and what is its output?
The role of participant is to take photos of Provence' beauties during each guided tours. You will work alone or in pair (your fellow could be one your friend). The project lasts 4 days.

Thursday 7 March - Day 1: Nice

A dazzling destination between mountains and the mediterranean, Nice is alive with compelling cultural attractions and world-leading hospitality. The nickname of Nice is "Nissa la Bella"! Why? Because everything to immerse yourself into a waking dream!
The city is now mainly dominated by architecture from the Belle Époque. This period bequeathed us an exceptional architectural heritage, elevating Nice to the status of a UNESCO World Heritage site as the ‘winter resort town of the Riviera.’
We are going to visit the best spots of the city:
- Nice Old Town - Let's wander around Nice's historical centre! Nice Old Town – locally known as Vieux Nice – is located at the eastern end of the Bay of Angels, between Albert the 1st Garden and Castle Hill. Featuring narrow cobblestoned streets, red-roofed old-style houses, and notable places like the Nice Opéra and Lascaris Palace, the Old Town takes you back to the 18th century.
- Promenade des Anglais - We'll take a stroll along the 'Walkway of the English'.
- Nice’s beautiful churches - Visit the best churches in the city
Nice’s beautiful churches boast a rich history and gorgeous architecture, making them a must-visit on your holiday. Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate is one of the most notable in the city and was constructed in the 12th century. The St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral is another stunning church that boasts dramatic minarets and coloured turrets in Russian architectural tradition that stand out in the city.
- Jean Médecin Avenue - Stretching between the Place Massena (just north of the Old Town) and Nice train station, Jean Médecin Avenue is the liveliest shopping street in the centre of Nice.
- Castle Hill Park - Take a great photo of Nice and the Bay of Angels
Castle Hill is the highest point in Nice. At the top, you’ll find the ruins of Nice Castle, a large artificial waterfall, a historical cemetery. Castle Hill offers the best panoramic view of the city and the Bay of Angels to the west, and of the port to the east.
Friday 8 March - Day 2: Aix-en-Provence

Aix-en-Provence was the ancient capital of Provence: ot is a dream destination for those who love to explore.
Bathed in the light of its special climate, Aix-en-Provence is a city of refined elegance on show in its constantly bustling streets and squares.
History here is the drama of everyday life a pleasurable shopping trip is combined with its noble heritage, a drink on a terrace with beautiful architecture and a stroll around town with baroque splendour. Every fountain holds a secret; each mansion house has a story to tell. The country houses are adorned by parks and gardens as they were over the centuries.
Aix-en-Provence is a canvas of joyful impressions, of colourful festivals, festivities and traditions, Provencal markets, delicious sun-filled delicacies, walks in the countryside and relaxing activities…
Cézanne’s colours are all around you: more than just an experience, you’ll actually feel like you’re meeting the painter amongst the places and landscapes which marked the life, the eye and the work of the father of modern painting.
Aix-En-Provence will welcome you warmly whatever the season, with so much to see, to feel and to discover.
Saturday 9 March - Day 3: Grasse

Discover Grasse - Provence capital of perfume!
Ideally located between sea and mountains, Grasse is a city of art and history. Grasse is adorned with gardens and fields of jasmine, roses, lavender and mimosa flowers that embellish and characterize the city.
The city center is home to architectural gems such as the cathedral, the 13th century episcopal palace, 17th and 18th century mansions, picturesque alleys and fountains. In Grasse, you will be amazed by the charm of the Provençal towns and villages.
We will visit a local "Parfumerie" where you can create your own perfume!
Sunday 10 March - DAY 4: Nice
10:30 – 12:30 Visit of Parc Phoenix
12:30 – 12:45 Issue of Attendance certificates and Good bye
At the end of the project, each participant shall receive an Attendance certificates signed by the Let me Italian you team and all its partners.
Plus, in order to bring more visibility to the work done during the project, each participant will submit 20 photos with their credits to Let me Italian you and the photos will be published by our official Flickr & Instagram (@letmeitalianyou) accounts.
