I’m Youyoung, originated from South Korea but living in Paris to be a medieval historian. I’m writing a thesis which is concentrated to urban history of medieval Mediterranean world, otherwise I also love to travel and explore the new world. I’ve been connected to this project coincidently when I was on the road for my long trip from Greece to Denmark, also I’m really delighted to be part of this wonderful photography project.

I participated to Discover Krakow XII, Discover Barcelona VIII,Discover Copenhagen I and Discover Marrakech IV.

After the great success of the last three editions, Let me Italian you is ready to launch the fourth and exclusive edition of DISCOVER LISBON. The first Christmas Edition in Lisbon!

Christmas lights, Christmas market, Christmas tree will make Lisbon even more magic!

"Light, say artists, is all important to creating a masterpiece. The azure sky over Lisbon, long hours of summer sunshine and golden sunsets are factors that ensure many visitors go home with fond memories and great photographs of the Portuguese capital. " Welcome to Lisbon: the City of Light.

DISCOVER LISBON is an innovative project whose purpose is to make the participants live a professional experience for those who love photography and video making.

The main goal of the project is to valorise and promote the magical and picturesque city of Lisbon, in Portugal, through photos, reportage, videos made by photographers (amateurs or not) from different places of the world. DISCOVER LISBON wants to enrich the professional and academic path of the photographer, moreover it wants to enrich his portfolio.

DISCOVER LISBON is supported by IADE-Universidade Europeia.

The two tours of the city are organized in collaboration with Rita the Guide, a professional local guide,who knows all the sights of Lisbon and will take you on a guided tour. Exactly:

1° Tour - Alfama: Alfama is one of the oldest districts in Europe and the former red light district of Lisbon. Surviving the great earthquake of 1755, Alfama is home to relics of the Arabic occupation in the 8th century, roman ruins and monuments regarding the foundation of Portugal 900 years ago! This maze-like little village inside the center of Lisbon will transport you to a simpler time where kids play on the streets, neighbors get together on a daily basis, doors are not locked and where the cars don't fit. Come wander these lost in time streets with a home made ginjinha, discover the birthplace of fado or just chat while drinking a portuguese glass of wine and tasting an amazing cheese platter. It includes: Cathedral of Lisbon - The castle of Lisbon - Labyrinth of old Alfama streets - History of Alfama - History of fado.

2° Tour - Downtown: With this tour you get to know the full history of Lisbon that originates as far as 3000 years ago, all the way up to the key events of XXI century Lisbon. We will see the highlights and the top attractions of its unique downtown area, the best viewpoints of the seven hills, talk about culture, literature and politics. The best way to understand the Portuguese people and the country's evolution, from its glorious past until today's Europe best well-kept secret. It includes: All downtown area - Best sightseeing points - Historical monuments, churches and ruins - Full Lisbon history.

In order to improve participants’ professional and academic skills, there will be several workshops and photoshooting:

Workshop "Long Exposure in Landscape Photography" at Belvedere of Our Lady of the Hill organized by the photographer Onésimo Costa
Workshop "Portrait Photograhy" organized by the photographer Nuno Patricio
Outdoor Photoshoot with local models in LX-Factory

How is DISCOVER LISBON organized and what is its output?

The role of participant is to take photos of Lisbon's beauties during each guided tours. You will work alone or in pair (your fellow could be one your friend). The project lasts 4 days.

At the end of the project, each participant shall receive an Attendance certificates signed by the Let me Italian you team and all its partners: IADE - Universidade Europeia, Nuno Patricio.

Plus, in order to bring more visibility to the work done during the project, each participant will submit 20 photos with their credits to Let me Italian you and the photos will be published by our official Flickr & Instagram (@letmeitalianyou) accounts.

Hello, my name’s Giulia, I’m 27 and I come from Italy. I’ve a master degree in Environmental Sciences and from a few months I work as an environmental technician.

At the moment, I think carpe diem is the best way to live my life, so here I am! My first experience out of the “comfort zone”.

My first solo departure with the desire to meet new friends, view an amazing city and at last but not the least to learn about one of my passions: photography! See you soon guys!

I graduated in Public Relations and last year, for six months, I lived in Australia. It was one of the best experience in my life!

I love travelling and meet new people and, obviously, photography. My favorite field is portrait photography.

My name is Jessica, but if you want call me Jessii you'll make me very happy. I'm 23 years old and I live in Italy. I study to become a primary teacher. When I was a child I usually used my dad's camera and I shot flower. This passion for photography grown more than 5 years ago, when for my birthday my parents gave me my current camera. I like capturing the moments that I see and in which I live, I love close-up perspectives and I always look for details.

This is the first time with LETMEITALIANYOU project! I'm so excited! I look forward to listening, watching and learning technicals to improve my skills.It will be a wonderful experience, I can feel it! I can’t wait to meet you guys!

I graduated from University with a Foreign Languages degree - I've studied Chinese and English. I've been in China for 5 months and it has been an amazing experience. I've started to think about photography only 2 years ago but soon it became my first passion.

I really love to fix moments, details and colours and to permit them lasting forever just through a click.

What I like the most is macro photography but I also like long exposure and portrait.
