DISCOVER KRAKOW is an innovative project whose purpose is to make the participants live a professional experience for those who love photography and video making. It has involved 191 participants from 36 different nationalities and with more than 2500 photos taken. Besides the prestigious collaboration with National Geographic Poland.
The main goal of the project is to valorise and promote the romantic and shining city of Krakow, in Poland, trough photos, reportage, videos made by photographers (amateurs or not) from different places of the world. DISCOVER KRAKOW wants to enrich the professional and academic path of the photographer, moreover it wants to enrich his portfolio.
DISCOVER KRAKOW is supported by Italian Cultural Institute in Krakow.
The tour of Old Town is organized in collaboration with Małgorzata Kubas, a professional Polish guide,who knows all the sights of Krakow and will take you on a guided tour.. Furthermore, agenda will be enriched with the visit of the UNESCO World heritage site: Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps.
In order to improve participants’ professional and academic skills, there will be four workshops and photoshootings:
- Workshop "Fashion photography" organized by the photographer Monika Mrozik
- Workshop"Food Photography" organized by the ukranian photographer Dasha Veselovskaya
- Workshop "Long expose in Landscape photography" at Krakus Mound lead by the photographer Michał Włoch
- Outdoor Photo Shooting with "local models" organized by the polish photographer Paulina Krzyżak OR "Street Portrait" organized by the photographer Halina Sikora.
Exclusively for this edition: INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST! Photographers from all the world will compete to show with their pictures the beauty of Krakow.
On Saturday 15th of July, during an official event, the participants will show its 3 photos to a panel of experts composed by professional photographers. The panel of expert will elect 3 winners.
AWARDS, exclusively and only for this edition of 2017, the three winners will be able to choose between:
1° Free semester at Photography School offered by Cracow School Of Art and Fashion Design
2° Discount 10% for a next DISCOVER photography project
The winners will also receive an official certificate signed by the panel of experts.
N.B.: It won’t be mandatory to accept the free semester . In order to participate to the contest 15€ to pay in loco.
How is DISCOVER KRAKOW - Summer Edition organized and what is its output?
The role of participant is to take photos of Krakow’s beauties during each guided tours. You will work alone or in pair (your fellow could be one your friend). The project lasts 5 days.

At the end of the project, each participant shall receive an Attendance certificates signed by the Let me Italian you team and all its partners: Italian Cultural Institute in Krakow, Cracow School Of Art and Fashion Design, Monika Mrozik, Dasha Veselovskaya.
Plus, in order to bring more visibility to the work done during the project, each participant will submit 20 photos with their credits to Let me Italian you and one of the photos will be published by the Facebook page of Krakow, Krakow PL (150K followers), official page of Istituto Italiano di Cultura, and from our official Flickr & Instagram (@letmeitalianyou) accounts.
