Madalina My name is Madalina and I am a photographer. I am 27 years old and I come from Chieti (Abruzzo - Italy). My passion for photography started when I was a child. As an adult I attended a professional academy of photography. I love photography in all its forms.

Sonia Hi, I'm Sonia and I'm 29 years old. I'm from Tuscany (Italy), but I've lived in Paris for 4 years. I studied Cultural Anthropology, and I love photography, especially urban and street photography. My other passions are cinema, modern and contemporary art, poetry. I like to meet new people, to collect stories.

Ilaria My name is Ilaria and I' m 26 years old. I' m from Mater but I live in Bologna where I study (a degree in Italian language, history and cilture). I' m very friendly and I love to travel so I look forward to start my experience in Poland.

Giulia Hi! I'm Giulia and I'm 21 years old. I study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, and not by chance I've got a great passion: art in all its forms, and especially, photography. It's a way to see the world, a beautiful way. And it's also a way to express myself. I'm also really interested in travelling, because I can take every different shades of every place and carry it with me, everywhere.

Alessandra I'm Alessandra, I love arts, visiting museums, taking photos and reading books. I work in Venice at Giorgio Cini Foundation, every day I discover Venice with my eyes, camera and heart. I'm trying to catch Venice's soul with my photos and impart my vison of life. My life partner is a musician, I belive in his work, among another things he composing musics for his choir.

Stefania Hello everybody! My name is Stefania and I come from Cosenza. I hold a master degree in History of Art. Since I was a child I am very passionate about photography. I love to observe and focus on what almost nobody see. I like to tell through images. I attended several courses and i strongly believe that this experience is going to be a big chance of personal and cultural empowerment.

Antonio My name is Antonio and I'm a law student from Bologna. Outside of my studies I enjoy cooking and am passionate about art, in particular photography, an interest that acts as an outlet for my creativity. I'm very glad to participate to this workshop. I hope to share this passion, learning new skills and meeting inspiring people."I've just taken a degree in Graphic and media communications, I love art, travel, photography and poetry. Roberta My name is Roberta, I'm 28 years old and I live in Torino. I work as a freelance Social Media Manager and my biggest passion is travelling. I love all aspects of art, especially photography (urban architecture and landscape), and I'm keen on literature, dancing and yoga. I'm looking forward to visiting Kraków and taking part in this amazing project!

Paola My name is Paola and I'm 27 years old. I currently live in Florence where I'm attending the Faculty of Sociology and Political Science. On the one hand my passion for photography is a kind of reflection of my studies: I like to photograph people to understand their interaction with the social and cultural context. On the other hand, it is about discovering new environments through the camera, preserving experiences and emotions of those specific moments, with the aim to enlarge my view. I’m looking forward to enjoy this new adventure in Krakow!

Amanda I'm Amanda. I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I spent a few years in Vancouver, BC before moving to Ireland. I’ve been in Dublin a year where I’ve been working at the Law Society of Ireland. I’m a huge music fan and I love hockey (ice hockey to you Europeans). I love travelling and sharing my photos so my Canadian friends can vicariously live through my adventures. I also like improving the geographical knowledge of my niece and nephew by sending them post cards from everywhere I go. I can’t wait to share a part of Poland with them!

Alessandra My name is Alessandra, I'm 28 years old. I'm from Turin and I live in Paris. I'm the founder of a Social Media Agency, Find your CM. I teach Entrepreneurship at Sciences Po University. I'm also the artistic director of a dance company, Slash / Art. I love photography, acroyoga, scuba-diving, travelling and good food. I'm very much looking forward to meeting you and sharing this experience together!

Damiano Hy, my name is Damiano and i'm 27 years old and i come from Palermo, Italy. I am a friendly Person who loves people from all over the world and different cultures. I am a great passionate about Photography and particularly i love food, street, landscape and Night Photography. I aim to improve my skills of course, and i am sure this experience will put me on the right path.

Maria Agata Maria, 23 years old, Lecce. I'm currently studying pharmacy in Padua but I'm keen on learning anything I don't know and photography is one of those subjects; the goal I follow in life is the pursuit of creativity, everything it could mean. In this direction this project seems to be perfect to discover a city in a innovative way and to share this experience with a group who has the same passion as mine. I'm just looking forward....

Giulia Hello, I’m Giulia. I was born and grew up in Rimini, a small town on the Adriatic Sea. Taking pictures of nature is, perhaps, what I like most, and a walk on the hills is often enough to make me feel happy. In spare time, I love reading, travelling, discovering. A significant role in my life play Russian language and Russia, where I’ve lived for almost five years. Friends, kind people, cats and nature make my life better.

Giada Hi, my name is Giada, I'm 25 years old and I am from Rieti, but I study Criminology in Chieti. I am an amateur photographer. I love taking pictures but I don't have a particular subject that I prefer catching. I'm looking foward to take part to this project in Cracovia.

Ida Karen I'm Karen and I'm from Cosenza, South of Italy. I'm 28 years old and I am currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree program in Public Administration. My interests include nature, art in all its forms, theatre, music and animals. Above all, I love travelling and photography. I always have my suitcase and reflex camera ready! I attended two courses of photography and my focus is urban and street photography, but I'm ready to test myself with other issues. I hope to meet many people and I believe that this experience is going to be a big chance of personal and cultural empowerment. See you soon in Krakow!

Paola Hi! I’m Paola , I’m 20 years old and I live in Rome. I study at the Academy of Fine Arts and I really love what I’m studying. I’m a little shy, but curious, I love to get to know new things. I feel insecure sometimes, but also determined to achieve the things I want, that’s the reason I decided to apply to this project. I look forward leaving and living this new experience!

Magda My name is Magda and I live in Wrocław, Poland. I am 24 years old. Photography is my biggest hobby, that’s why I am so glad I can go with “Let me Italian You” to the Cracow. I learned how to use camera on my own and then I studied Photography at the University of Wroclaw. I work in a completely different trade, but I will always find a moment to take photos and share them with the world. I hope we will have fun in March !

Rosamaria Ciao sono Rosamaria e vengo dalla Sardegna. Sono un'insegnante di scuola dell'infanzia. Da poco più di un anno ho scoperto la fotografia.. mi ha aperto un mondo e cambiato il mio modo di essere e guardare la vita che mi circonda. Amo osservare le persone, conoscere storie catturare sguardi, dettagli, frammenti di vita.

Antonello Salve,mi chiamo Antonello ,sono nato in un piccolo paese della provincia di Oristano in Sardegna nel 1977. Comincio ad appassionarmi di fotografia verso i 25 anni con la prima compatta per poi con il tempo arrivare al mondo reflex e i primi corsi con fotografi affermati a livello mondiale come Simone Sbaraglia,con cui effettuo corsi di vario livello. Amante del paesaggio e della naturalistica ma non disdegno tutti gli altri generi fotografici consapevole che ognuno di essi è fonte di confronto e miglioramento personale.

After the great success of the last six editions, Let me Italian you is ready to launch the first edition of 2017 of DISCOVER KRAKOW with some great unique news: international contest with the prize of the Nikon Academy or a Voucher of Ryanair!

PARTICIPANTS

DISCOVER KRAKOW is an innovative project whose purpose is to make the participants live a professional experience for those who love photography and video making. In 2016, it has involved 162 participants from 32 different nationalities and with more than 2500 photos taken. Besides the prestigious collaboration with National Geographic Poland.

The main goal of the project is to valorise and promote the romantic and shining city of Krakow, in Poland, trough photos, reportage, videos made by photographers (amateurs or not) from different places of the world. DISCOVER KRAKOW wants to enrich the professional and academic path of the young photographer, moreover it wants to enrich his portfolio.

DISCOVER KRAKOW is supported by Italian Cultural Institute in Krakow.

The tour of Old Town is organized in collaboration with Małgorzata Kubas, a professional Polish guide,who knows all the sights of Krakowand will take you on a guided tour.. Furthermore, agenda will be enriched with the visit of the UNESCO World heritage site: Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps.

In order to improve participants’ professional and academic skills, there will be several workshops and photoshootings:

Workshop "Portrait photography" organized by Monika Mrozik with Face Art - Make Up School and Diana Bryg-Opido as Stylist.
Workshop "Fashion photography" organized by the polish photographer Iwona Wojtowwicz
Workshop"Food Photography" organized by the polish photographer Dasha Veselovskaya or Photo Shooting with "local models" organized by the polish photographer Paulina Krzyżak
Workshop "Landscape photography" at Krakus Mound lead by Marek Marszale

Exclusively for this edition: International Photography Contest "Krakow through your eyes". The role of the participant is to take photos of Krakow’s beauties during each guided tours. There will be an online contest in order to choose the winner! AWARD, exclusively and only for this first edition of 2017, the winner will be able to choose between:

NIKON COURSE at Ocean Village in Southampton
VOUCHER of Ryanair (fly around the world thanks to Let me Italian you!)

N.B.: in order to partecipate to the project and to the contest, it is not required to have a Nikon.

How is DISCOVER KRAKOW - Limited Edition organized and what is its output?

The role of participant is to take photos of Krakow’s beauties during each guided tours. You will work alone or in pair (your fellow could be one your friend). The project lasts 5 days.

At the end of the project, each participant shall receive an Attendance certificates signed by the Let me Italian you team and all its partners: Italian Cultural Institute in Krakow, Cracow School Of Art and Fashion Design, Paulina Krzyżak, Weronika Kosińska, Dasha Veselovskaya.

Plus, in order to bring more visibility to the work done during the project, each participant will submit 20 photos with their credits to Let me Italian you and one of the photos will be published by the Facebook page of Krakow, Krakow PL (150K followers), official page of Istituto Italiano di Cultura, and from our official Flickr & Instagram (@letmeitalianyou) accounts.
