After the great success of the six editions of Discover Krakow and three editions of Discover Barcelona, Let me Italian you is proud to announce the first edition of DISCOVER BUDAPEST.
DISCOVER BUDAPEST is an innovative project with a purpose to make the participants have a professional experience for those who love photography and video making.
The main goal of the project is to valorise and promote the magic city of Budapest,Hungary, trough photos, reportage, videos made by photographers from different places of the world. DISCOVER BUDAPEST wants to enrich the professional and academic path of the photographer, moreover it wants to enrich their portfolio.
DISCOVER BUDAPEST is supported by Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest.
We proudly announce the project is also supported by National Geographic Magyarország.
The tour of the Old Town is organized in collaboration with Greg Kieckhefer, a professional photographer, who knows all the sights of Budapest and will take you on a guided tour. Furthermore, agenda will be enriched with the visit of the UNESCO World heritage site: the Jewish District (including Europe’s largest synagogue).
In order to improve the participants’ professional and academic skills, there will be three photo shootings:
- Workshop "How to Photograph Cities" organized by the prestigious Budapest Metropolitan University; the teacher of the workshop will be the Pulitzer winner photographer Tamás Révész. Mr. Révész is also one of the great masters and he is the head of the photojournalism specialization at Budapest Metropolitan University.
- Workshop "Urban Photography" lead by the photographer Isabel Val in Fraser Residence Budapest
- Photo shooting "People & Place" lead by Sara Mosa and sponsored by Free Faces Model Management (Website - Facebook - Instagram)
Exclusively for this edition: National Geographic Morning. On Friday 24th March, each participant will have 2 hours to go around the city in order to make the best picture that represents Budapest! That photo will be publisheb by National Geographic.
Further, we will have an impactful storytelling with the blind photographer Tara Wills : "beauty is everywhere, just look closer, you will see it."
How is DISCOVER Budapest organized and what is its output?
The role of the participant is to take photos of Budapest’s beauties during each guided tours. You will work alone or in pairs (your fellow could be one your friend). The project lasts 5 days.

At the end of the project, each participant shall receive an Attendance certificates signed by the Let me Italian you team and all its partners: Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest,Budapest Metropolitan University, Isabel Val, Sara Mosa.
Plus, in order to bring more visibility to the work done during the project, each participant will submit 20 photos with their credits to Let me Italian you and one of the photos will be published by National Geographic Magyarország, by the Facebook page of Hungary Art & Architecture (32K followers), by Daily News Hungary (30K followers) and by Daily magyar (20K followers) plus from our official Instagram account @letmeitalianyou and Flickr account Let me Italian you.
